IMER is an Institute with a
difference, where an equal emphasis is laid on developing in
our students various technical abilities, soft skills along
with management competencies.
IMER was founded in 1991 and initially started as an
Autonomous Institute offering Two Year Post Graduate Diploma
in Management (PGDM) which was later, converted from the
Academic Year 1999-2000 to the Master of Business
Administration (M.B.A.) Programme affiliated to Karnatak
University, Dharwad, recognized by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, New
Delhi and Govt. of Karnataka. Today we stand proud in a
beautiful and spacious campus with well-ventilated classrooms,
specialization rooms, Auditorium, Computer Lab, and Library.
What sets us apart is not just the campus but also the way
that we GROOM GLOBAL TALENT.
All activity at IMER is oriented towards creating
opportunities for students to discover, explore and learn not
just within the confines of their curriculum but extending
outside the boundaries of the classroom and academics.
Students are encouraged to expand their horizons, enrich their
thinking and grow outward.
At the same time, IMER firmly believes that rigorous academics
is the backbone of all education and students at IMER go
through a rigorous curriculum that packs in a total of 50
hours per week that includes 25 hours of classroom teaching, 8
hours of labs, 15 hours of project work and 2 hours of
industry exposure.
Infrastructure Facility:
Industry Institute Interface Cell: The institute has III –
Cell to assist students in their final placement, summer
training programmes, major concurrent projects to develop
rapport with almameter and to build an healthy relationship
with corporate world.
Library:
A temple of knowledge has rich and wide range of
collection and policy is to make addition every year. It has
8300+books, 38 Indian journals, 32 Indian Magazines, 2 Foreign
journals, 3 foreign magazines, 300+ CDs, 15 newspapers. The
Library is subscribing to Prowess,
j-gate and IBID electronic journal that has more than 4700+
e-journals and database.
Computer Lab:
Institutes Computer Lab is well equipped
Computers with latest configuration of , legal softwares such
as Minitab (Statistcs), Agnifinance, Foxpro, Turbo C, Visual
Studio and Oracle. The entire PCs are networked. The Lab has
maintained student – computer ratio at 1:2.
Entrepreneurship Development Cell:
The Nodal Center for one year Open Learning Diploma in
Business Entrepreneurship offered by Entrepreneurship
Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad (Gujarat) is also
functional.
The Center has a vision to develop more job providers rather
than job seekers. It achieves its own vision with a mission of
Entrepreneurship Education, Consultancy and Research to
students, unemployed youths and to entrepreneurs. It also
organizes one week EDP on setting up a Small Business
Enterprises.
Centre for Financial Excellence:
……Centre for Financial Excellence.. focuses on research and
consultancy in the discipline of finance, cost and human
resource. It takes up regularly issue based consultancy
assignments of industries, training and development, joint
research with industrialists, development and implementation
of financial softwares, and publication of live case studies
and books.
Bi-annual Journal “TATVA”:
“TATVA”, the essence of excellence is the journal of KLS IMER.
The journal carries out articles, research papers and case
studies in all functional areas of Management and allied
disciplines. The same is circulated among corporate houses
across the country, alumni of institution and well wishers.
The objective of this journal is to act as a forum for
discussion on contemporary issues in Management.
TECKEYS:
A special interest group in Information Technology at
Institution, the team works on several projects that are IT
related and conducts out-bound training programmes to a
society at large.
