ETHNOS – THE HR FORUM

The HR forum ETHNOS was formed under the guidance of Dr. Kirti Shivakumar . The HR forum was started with the objective of giving to all people who have an interest in HR, a platform to interact and keep themselves abreast with industry trends in the HR profession.
ETHNOS mean people in Greek, organizes various events with people and skill development as the focus.

The maiden event of ETHNOS was a workshop titled “RAAH” – the path to success. The objective of this workshop was to introduce the conceptual and practical aspects of Counselling and mentoring. It began with sessions from Ms. Ashwini Belgaumkar from Cross Roads, Dr. C.N. Tugashetti, KLE Hospital and Dr. A.B. Kalkundrikar, the then Director IMER. In the latter half there was a panel discussion by the experts. It was attended by students from Various MBA institutions of Belgaum and representatives from industry as
well.

WALL OF WISDOM
WALL OF WISDOM is the HR wall journal of IMER and was inaugurated on the occasion by Shri S.G. Punekar .This journal is updated on a fortnightly basis and has columns titled “HR Glossary”, “Legal Corner”, and “Current Practices.

IMER CELEBRATES HR DAY

August 11th, is observed as HR Day all over the world. To commemorate this day, ETHNOS, the HR forum of IMER, celebrated HR Day under the guidance of Dr.Kirti Shivakumar. The programme was called “Talking HR”, where Ms. Girija Shetty, Senior HR Officer Quest
Global and Mr.Urjeet Swamy of Renee Business Solutions addressed the students on the changing paradigms of HR from an administrative function to that of a strategic business partner. The students also designed and conducted the HR Walk, a unique ramp walk indicating the various functions of HR. Dr.Purushotham Bung, Director, KLS IMER, Dr. Kirti Shivakumar , Dr.Arif Sheikh and Prof. Shailaja congratulated the HR students for their wonderful initiative.
