			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We take immense pleasure to inform you that KLS Institute of Management Education and Research, Belgaum, is conducting “MANNAT 2012” a National level management fest on the 19<sup>th</sup> and 20<sup>th</sup> of April 2012.</p>
<p>MANNAT is a national level intercollegiate management festival, which is organised once in every two years aiming to simulate and explore the natural talents and the hidden potentials within the individuals, nurture them to build superlative managerial skills.  Various renowned 20-25 B-schools from all over India will be participating in this management fest. Also eminent personalities and industrialists who have made their work at both national and international levels will be a part of this grand event.</p>
<p>The Inaugural function of the said event will be held on 19<sup>th</sup> April 2012 at 10:00.a.m. in the Auditorium of KLS IMER.  Dr. R.R. Hanchinal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Agriculture Sciences, Dharwad will be the Chief Guest, Mr. G.D. Rodericks, General Manager, HR. Hindalco, Belgaum &amp; Shri. S.G. Punekar, Chairman, Governing Council of KLS IMER will be the guests of honour and Shri. A.G. Kulkarni, Chairman,  Board of Management Karnatak Law Society, Belguaum will preside over the function.</p>

<p>The Valedictory function ( prize giving ceremony) of the said event will be held on 20<sup>th</sup> April 2012 at 6:00. p.m. in the Auditorium of KLS IMER.  Dr. H. Maheshppa, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Vishveshwarayya Technological University, Belgaum will be the Chief Guest, Shri. Vinay Jathar, Managing Partner, J.P. Foundaries, Belgaum &amp; Shri. S.G. <p>4<sup>th</sup> SEMESTER INDUSTRIAL VISIT AGRA-DELHI MARCH 2012</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Ninety five students of 4<sup>th</sup> semester MBA of KLS IMER were taken for one week industrial visit of Agra and Delhi. Two faculty members Prof. Mahantesh Halagatti and Prof. Shashank Hiremath accompanied with one tour operator.  </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>The students left Belgaum on 21<sup>st</sup>  March 2012 and reached Agra on 23<sup>rd</sup> March at 3 am in the morning. On 23<sup>rd</sup> the students were taken to Leather processing industry which are there in Agra. As March is a month of financial auditing only limited access was given to the industry. Later on that day students visited Agra Red Fort, Fatehpur Sikri and proceeded towards Delhi.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>On 24<sup>th</sup> March 2012 a visit was scheduled to Mother Dairy. The students were taken for a round Mother Dairy which was set up in 1974 under the Operation Flood Programme. It is a wholly owned company of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). Mother Dairy manufactures, markets &amp; sells milk and milk products under the Mother Dairy brand (Milk, Cultured Products, Ice Creams, Paneer and Ghee), Dhara range of edible oils, Safal range of fresh Fruit &amp; vegetables, Frozen Vegetables, Processed Fruit &amp; Vegetable Products, Fruit Pulps &amp; Concentrates in bulk aseptic packaging and fruit juices at a national level through its sales and distribution networks for marketing food items.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Mr. Michael Jose in charge CIS of Mother Dairy explained about the production of Milk and Milk products at the dairy. Students interacted with him about the Quality Management principles and Human resources policies developed in the company. He also explained how the marketing and logistics activities are carried out so that the products reach in good quality and in time to consumers.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Mother Dairy sources significant part of its requirement of liquid milk from dairy cooperatives. Similarly, Mother Dairy sources fruits and vegetables from farmers / growers associations. Mother Dairy also contributes to the cause of oilseeds grower cooperatives that manufacture/ pack the Dhara range of edible oils by undertaking to nationally market all Dhara products. It is Mother Dairy’s constant endeavor to ensure that milk producers and farmers regularly and continually receive market prices by offering quality milk, milk products and other food products to consumers at competitive prices and uphold institutional structures that empower milk producers and farmers through processes that are equitable.</strong></p>

<p><strong>At  Mother Dairy, processing of milk is controlled by process automation whereby state-of-the-art microprocessor technology is adopted to integrate and completely automate all functions of the milk processing areas to ensure high product quality/ reliability and safety. Mother Dairy is an ISO 9001:2008 (QMS), ISO 22000:2005 (FSMS) and ISO 14001:2004 (EMS) certified organization. Mother Dairy has Certificate of Approval from Export Inspection Council of India also. Moreover, its Quality Assurance Laboratory is certified by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratory (NABL)-Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Later on that day students were taken to Akshardham Temple complex and in evening were left for shopping. Students visited in groups in the areas of Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk, Karol Bag. </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>On 25<sup>th</sup> March 2012 being a Sunday no Industry visit was scheduled. Students had a chance to travel through Metro Rail and were impressed to see the management and signal system followed at Delhi Metro. They were taken for local sight seeing of Qutub Minar, Lotus temple, India Gate, Red Fort. In the evening the students were left for shopping. </strong></p>

<p><strong>We thank all the 4<sup>th</sup> semester students for behaving decently which helped in smooth conduct of the tour. We would like to thank Mr.Ameet Kulkarni and Mr.Sujeet Kulkarni- 4<sup>th</sup> sem students for coordinating the visit.</strong></p>

<p><strong>On 26<sup>th</sup> March 2012 we left Delhi at 7.35 am by train and reached Belgaum on 27<sup>th</sup> March 2012 night.</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Karnatak Law Society’s Institute of Management Education &amp; Research organized four days outbound training and Industrial visit to its second semester students from 25<sup>th</sup> to 28<sup>th</sup> March 2012. The students visited M/s.Shreyas Papers Pvt. Ltd, which is a paper manufacturing industry and manufactures different varieties of papers using the best technology. The students had a outbound training in one of the resorts in Dandeli for 2 days. The training involved extensive activities on team building, communication, time management, importance of nature and various related activities. The students underwent a beautiful jungle walk in the early hours of the day and took pleasure of the beauty of nature and various birds nested in the thick jungles of Dandeli. The outbound training and industrial visit was jointly organized by Mr.Guruprasad Shivkamat of Metamorphosis and the placement cell of KLS IMER. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>KLS’s IMER , organized a B-Plan competition in collaboration with Deshpande Center for Social Entrepreneurship on 16<sup>th</sup> March 2012. This event was organized to develop entrepreneurial instinct for the students of MBA colleges. Around 18 MBA  colleges from different parts of the country have participated in the event.</p>
<p>Mr. Sanjay Bichu, MD, Alucast  Auto Parts Ltd., inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and delivered the inaugural address. He stressed upon developing entrepreneurial instincts to make this country a developed nation. Sri. S.M.Kulkarni, Secretary, Karnatak Law Society presided over the function.</p>
<p>Sri. S.G.Punekar, Chairman GCwelcomes the gathering. Dr. Purushottam Bung, Director, presented the mementoes to the guests. Dr. P.M.Charantimath,  gave the overall view of the B-Plan competition.Ms. Sunaina Hoogan, faculty introduced the guests. Ms. Shailaja Hiremath , Faculty, proposed vote of thanks.</p>

<p>Bangalore based Maneesh Gas Appliances Pvt. Ltd. visited Institute of Management Education &amp; Research on 6<sup>th</sup> February 2012 and conducted pool campus placement drive for MBA graduates of belgaum. The company, which owns brands like <strong>Peacock Plus, Super Surya</strong><strong> </strong>and<strong> <strong>Panasonic Flame</strong></strong> to LPG distributors in India, has an annual turnover of 100 crores. The company offered attractive profiles to the students in the area of Sales and Marketing spread across the country and the pool campus drive was attended by various students of different MBA colleges of belgaum. The company has shortlisted students based on the aptitude test and personal interview conducted in the campus and the final round of selection would happen by the end of the month. Mr.Arun K and Ms.Brinda Ganesh conducted the personal interview and expressed their happiness in visiting the institute and confirmed their visit again in the month of march for conducting a  pool drive for Under Graduate students of Belgaum.</p>

<p>Karnatak Law Society’s Institute of Management Education &amp; Research students got selected in the campus drives conducted by Asian Paints Ltd and Careernet Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. The initial screening was conducted in hubli and the students were shortlisted for the final round of selection. Mr.Shrinidhi Hukkeri, the final year student of KLS IMER has been selected as Sales Officer by Asian Paints Limited, and he is the only student from belgaum to be selected through campus placement in the 2012 batch. Ms.Gloria Vaz, a final year student of KLS IMER is selected by Careernet Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore in the domain of recruitment. Both the selected students went through a rigorous selection procedure and have been successful in gaining a job. The Management, Staff and student fraternity wishes the students the best for their future endeavors.</p>

<p>State Bank of India Life visited Karnatak Law Society’s Institute of Management Education &amp; Research on 20<sup>th</sup> February 2012 and conducted campus placement selection for final year students of MBA.        SBI Life offered the position of Management Trainee and selected four students from the IMER campus. The initial screening was conducted two weeks back in the IMER campus by conducting an aptitude test and shortlisted eight students for the final round of interview. Mr.Saurabh Shyam, HR Manager, SBI Life and the Zonal Manager of SBI Life conducted the final interview to the shortlisted students. The students underwent the final round of interview in the KLS IMER campus along with other students from management colleges of Hubli. The students who cleared the final round of interview were Ms.Rashmi Math, Ms.Preeti Honnamane, Mr.Shailesh Shahpurkar &amp; Mr.George Borges from KLS IMER and would be joining the company in the month of June 2012.</p>
<p>It may be noted here that KLS IMER is the only MBA institute from Belgaum which has been shortlisted by the company and has been visiting the institute for the second consecutive year and has selected students. Mr.Suhas Rajput, Placement Officer, KLS IMER organized the campus visit of SBI Life and the representatives expressed their happiness in visiting the institute for the second time and picking management graduates for their company.</p>

<p align="center"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">4)KLS IMER students placed in Coca Cola in Campus Placement</span></strong></p>
<p>Five Students of Karnatak Law Society’s Institute of Management Education &amp; Research [IMER] were selected by Coca Cola, the largest soft drink company in the world. The students underwent through a regressive selection procedure of three rounds. Initially a total of 14 IMER students were shortlisted for the pool campus drive organized in Hubli on 25<sup>th</sup> Feb 2012 and five among these made it to the final selection. The students are offered a position of Team Leader and would be undergoing training cum probation period of six months and post which they would be confirmed with a salary ranging from three lac to three lac fifty thousand rupees. The selected students name are Mr.Gajendra Shiroshi, Mr.Ameet Kulkarni, Mr.Guruprasad Tenginkar, Ms.Ratika Mirji &amp; Mr.Ganesh Patil, and all are from marketing specialization. The students of IMER were the maximum to be selected by Coca Cola and the HR manager expressed their happiness in selecting the students based on their talent, knowledge and managerial skills. The Management, Director, Placement Officer, Staff members and student fraternity of KLS IMER congratulated the selected students and wished them the best for their corporate career with coca cola.</p>

<p align="center"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">5)KLS IMER hosts mega campus placement drive for Shoppers Stop</span></strong></p>
<p>Karnatak Law Society’s Institute of Management Education &amp; Research hosted a one day mega campus drive for under graduated &amp; post graduates for a retail giant company Shoppers Stop from Bangalore on 28<sup>th</sup> February 2012. Students various institutes of Belgaum, Hubli-Dharwad, Gadag &amp; Bagalkot participated in the drive.  More then 200 hundred students participated in the drive and after clearing the communications test and personal interview, 34 students got the offer letter from the HR Manager the retail major. Ms.Ameena, HR manager expressed her happiness in conducting the interview and also finding good amount of talent in this part of the country. The campus drive began with a presentation from the HR manager to the graduates and post graduates separately and then the students underwent a written communication test. After clearing the written test, seventy five students were interviewed and thirty four students were finally selected for the job. Two students from KLS IMER were also selected and were congratulated from the Management, Faculty &amp; student fraternity of the institute. Dr.Poornima Charantimath, Director, KLS IMER welcomed the representatives of the company and  Mr.Suhas Rajput, Placement Officer, KLS IMER, co-ordinated the event.</p>

<p align="center"><strong>6)Students of KLS IMER placed in HR Consulting Company</strong></p>
<p>Three Students of Karnatak Law Society’s Institute of Management Education &amp; Research [IMER] were selected by Centre for Excellence in Organisation, a leading Chennai based HR Consulting company recently in a campus selection drive organized in Dharwad. The students underwent an initial screening of two rounds, followed by a personal interview before being offered a job of Management Trainees in the Consulting division of the company. The students who were offered the job are Ms.Ratika Mirji, Ms.Rutuja Mane &amp; Ms.Mayuri Kaveri. The Management, Faculty &amp; Student fraternity congratulated the students and wished them for a great consulting career.</p>

<p align="center"><strong>7)Pool Campus Drive by Wipro Technologies, Bangalore on 10<sup>th</sup> March 2012 at KLS IMER</strong></p>
<p>Bangalore based IT major company Wipro Technologies is visiting Karnatak Law Society’s Institute of Management Education &amp; Research on Saturday, 10<sup>th</sup> March 2012. The pool drive would start at 10.00 AM with a presentation from the HR Manager and then the recruitment process would begin. The pool drive is open for all final semester students of BCA Course. And the selected students would be briefed on the career growth at Wipro Technologies on 11<sup>th</sup> March 2012 in the auditorium of KLS IMER.</p>

<p><strong> </strong>“<strong>SAMAGAM 2012</strong>” is a State Level Management Fest for the undergraduates organized to unleash and encourage their creativity, team work, and skills. It is based on the principles of leadership and self development.  The theme is <strong><em>“YOUTH AND A BETTER INDIA”.</em></strong></p>
<p>Inauguration function was held today at 9.30.a.m.  Shri.Avinash Potdar, District Governor, Rotary Club, Belgaum was the Chief Guest, Shri.A.G. Kulkarni, Chairman, Board of Management, Karnatak Law Society, was presided over the function.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The function begin with Innovation song by Aksha Patil and Group.  Dr. Purushottam Bung, Director, KLS IMER, welcomed the gathering.  Dr. Kirti Shivkumar, Co-ordinator, Samagama – 2012 briefed about the programme, Dr. P.M.Charantimath, Professor, Shri. Suhas Rajput, Placement Officer were also on dias.</p>

<p>Shri.Avinash Potdar, Chief Guest and other dignitaries inaugurated the same with lighting the lamp.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>In his speech Shri.Avinash enthralled the audience with his speech filled with true life stories of great individuals like G.R.Vishwanath, Sunil Gavaskar and the late Shri.Sunil Dutt.   “ From my experiences with them, I understand one thing,  leaders don’t become leaders by accident, they have determined streak in them which helps them achieve their goal.”   He asked the students to take the opportunity which IMER has provided to them.</p>
<p>In his presidential address Shri. A.G. Kulkarni impressed upon the student the fact that success does not depend just academic qualification but on the creativity  and imagination that the individual possesses.   He congratulated IMER as the effort put into organizing Samagam-2012.</p>
<p>Ms. Rutuja Mane, student of 4<sup>th</sup> Semester proposed vote of thanks.  <strong>          </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong>Eighteen (18) teams  ( 175 Students) from all over the state are participating in the event.  This event is aimed at attracting undergraduate students as prospective students for  future MBA Programme.</p>

Charantimath Director In charge welcomed the gathering spoken about the importance of parents interaction with institution. Dr. K. G. Malali in his address as chief guest spoke about the role and responsibilities of parents in the strened the parents role in identifying the skills of their children. Shri S. M. Kulkarni spoke about taking active interest in their children’s overall development. Prof. Padmapriya Katagal introduced the dignitaries and Prof. B. K.
