Karnatak Law Society (KLS), Belgaum founded in 1939 by legal luminaries in this part of Northern Karnataka. The Society has established standards with Professionals and today it has value-based Institutions spreading from KG to PG. K.L.S. founded Institute of Management Education and Research (I.M.E.R), Belgaum in 1991, and the Institute conducts a two-year full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme affiliated to Karnataka University Dharwad, and is approved by AICTE New-Delhi.

IMER has a team of highly dedicated and knowledge-rich faculty who are fully engaged in developing multiple skills in students. Our faculty believes in PRAGATI and continuous up-date of their knowledge. They have been attending Seminars, Workshops and Faculty Development Programmes. The faculty of IMER is in consultancy to Government and private Organizations in India and abroad. The faculties are also involved in Research by producing over 100 research papers, 5 books, and recieved grants for various Projects from AICTE. The Institute encourages students in varied activities and grooms them to fit for the modern competitive requirement. Over the past 5-6 years, the Institute has achieved good placements with the support of organizations like, India Cements Ltd., ICICI Bank, Adroit Software & Consulting Inc., USA, ICICI Lombard, ICICI Prudential, Whirlpool India, PEPSI, Kotak Securities Ltd., Glaxo, Tata Teleservies Ltd., Cambell Knitwear Ltd., Reliance Money, Citi Financial, Deutch Bank, Infosys BPO etc. The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Foreign Language, Centre for Financial Excellence, add-on- courses etc., are new feathers to IMER.

With the above all, IMER today has positioned itself among the top 75 B-Schools in India. It enjoys a unique place among B-Schools in Karnataka. The Institute publishes a bi-annual research journal “TATVA”.

Three important Aspects for the Indian B-Schools in the present scenario are: Admissions, Placements and B-School Ranking. These three aspects are circular. The Institute whose ranking is better gets admissions and also the placements. The one, which gets better placements, gets better rank. The one, which gets better admissions, gets better placements.
