KLS IMER, Belagavi, organized a Special Session on the Indian Knowledge System on “Scientific Dating of the Ramayana and Mahabharata” on 8 January 2026 for all the students and staff.
The session was delivered by Mr. Nilesh Nilkanth Oak, noted author and researcher on Ancient Indian History, widely known for his interdisciplinary work that integrates astronomy, archaeology, textual analysis, and scientific reasoning to study the chronology of the Indian Itihasas..
The programme aimed to create academic awareness among students and faculty about evidence-based approaches to understanding India’s civilizational history and to encourage critical engagement with indigenous knowledge systems.
Dr. Arif Shaikh, Director – KLS IMER, in his message, emphasized the importance of revisiting Indian knowledge traditions through scholarly and scientific perspectives in contemporary higher education.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Shailaja Hiremath, Associate Professor -KLS IMER. Ms. Deepa Khatawakar and Ms. Shejal Patil from the first year batch, anchored the session.
The session witnessed active participation and thoughtful discussions, reinforcing KLS IMER’s commitment to integrating Indian Knowledge Systems into academic discourse.
